Scottish Castles Association Wooden Wall Plaque

A number of years ago now the Scottish Castles Association, which Paul is a member of, visited Edinburgh Castle on a special castle event which was dubbed the 'The Heineken Tour'. This name came about because the SCA were invited by Historic Scotland, who manage Edinburgh Castle, to explore the 'not so safe' underground chambers and old basements of the old St David's Tower, destroyed mainly after the Lang Seige during Mary Queen of Scots time, and the lower sections of which still exists under the Half Moon Battery.

The name 'The Heineken Tour' - was a play on the Heineken advertising slogan, 'Heineken refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach', which in the castle tour's case was getting to see parts others ( the public ) can't, due to health and safety, normally see.

Below Paul is pictured presenting the wall plaque as 'a token of our appreciation' and a thank you to Historic Scotland for their excellent hospitality on the day.
